“THE SEVA SERIES: EARTH DAY CELEBRATION”

WITH NICOLE HONNIG & BEKAH FINCH

Thursday, 4/22/2010  8:15p-10:00p

Donation Only - All proceeds go to the Sierra Club

April 22nd marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day - originally created because people realized we took our planet for granted and we needed to be more eco-conscious. 40 years have passed and more than ever before, we need to take care of our home!

There is a direct connection between the relationship we have with our bodies and with our planet. The first step towards change is awareness; if you are aren't aware of your body and breath, how can you be aware of the air you breathe and the ground you walk upon?

Join Bekah & Nicole for a night of mixed level asana, chanting and meditation to celebrate our planet and deepen the connection to our own bodies as well as mama earth. All proceeds will go to support the Sierra Club, the oldest environmental organization in the U.S. For more information, visit: http://www.sierraclub.org/

Seva, a Sanskrit word, means "selfless service". This is a DONATION ONLY workshop open to everyone who wishes to explore the benefits that this healing practice has to offer. The word "service" does not fully capture the essence of the word seva. Seva is much more than donating money to a charity. The word "seva" means 'together with' and describes those actions that seek collective upliftment through an understanding of the needs of others, and are based on togetherness and integration. Seva is an expression of compassion, of the desire to uplift and assist people. Beginners to advanced yogis are welcome.
