“When labor started for me, I had Nicole come over to my house.  She helped me through each contraction with movement, positions, and laughter.  By the time we went to the hospital, I was already 4-5 centimeters dilated.  She and I continued to walk through the halls, getting closer to the big moment.  Finally, I decided to try the Stadol that was offered to me.  I figured if Nicole had so much success with my pain relief, then an IV would be much more effective.  Boy, was I wrong.  In retrospect, I learned that the best pain relief I could ever have was Nicole.  The Stadol did little but make me feel drunk, and strap me to the bed.  Nicole was by

my side the whole time.  Even as I was hooked up to the IV, she got me to focus, relax and to open quicker.  Then the time arrived for us to meet the person who would change our lives forever, and Nicole was there, offering encouragement and taking some really amazing photos.

Looking back on it, I had a spectacular labor and delivery.  It was filled with confidence and support due to Nicole.  Each contraction was manageable because of her, and we laughed through all 36 hours of it.  Her methods to relax, and deal with pain, are warm, safe and resultant.  It is so hard to express what it means to have the support of Nicole in the delivery room, and I could never say enough good about my experience giving birth to the light of my life, due to Nicole’s gift.” - Jessica, Craig & Teagan

"Nicole was a wonderful doula for us at every stage.  We met Nicole through her pre-natal yoga classes (highly recommended) and it was clear after only a few casual conversations that she was ideally suited for the many different aspects of being a doula for new parents.  She brought her natural humor and warmth, along with a wealth of birth plan options.  She was also extremely professional, making sure that she understood the mother's wishes in each circumstance and that her job did not lead to any conflict with the doctors or nurses.  For those of you who might wonder if a doula is still useful in the case of C-section, we can confirm that having Nicole there to help us both stay (and entertained), to assist with little tasks after the

birth, and to make sure we were as rested as possible was well worth it.  If we have a second child, we hope Nicole can be there again; until then, we'll see her at the Mommy-and-Me yoga classes!"

"Nicole worked with my husband and me during the birth of our twins.  When she arrived, my husband was giving me the prompts we learned during our Hypnobabies classes.  She joined us seamlessly, giving cues and gently pressing on my forehead time and time again. When I had to have an unplanned Caesarean birth, she held my hand in the operating room and cried with me as my sons were born.  Her experience as a prenatal yoga teacher complements her doula work--she is instinctive, present, and responsive to the the kind of touch and energy her clients need.  As a birth doula myself, I was very impressed with Nicole and

recommend her to anyone who is looking for a sensitive, knowledgeable doula with humor, likability, and gentle strength." - Gia, Charlie, Nathanial & Charlie

“Thank goodness Nicole was there when my primary Doula wasn't!  Nicole was our back up and she was amazing.  My husband hadn't even met her yet, but she is so easy going and on top of things that they clicked from the beginning and both worked together to make my birth experience so amazing!   I had the natural birth I dreamed of, and when it came time to make heavy decisions, Nicole helped weigh the pros and cons with us so we can all be on board with the final decision.   I still swear, to this day, that I could have never done it without my husband and Nicole.  My husband says he could have never done it without Nicole.  Thank you for being there on Sophia's birth day and helping bring her into the world!” - Liuba, Ryan & Sophia

She was really insightful about what to do to support Asher both physically (she must have been sore after spending so much time massaging Asher's back during back labor!) and emotionally.  Nicole was also a great advocate at the hospital-- helping to communicate with the nurses.  She knew what to expect and really helped us in all our moments of uncertainty.  We are so tremendously grateful to her for all her support.  It was such a beautiful and intimate experience and we truly are happy that we were able to share it with such an amazing person.” - Asher, RJ and Helen

“We met Nicole through pre-natal yoga classes at Silverlake Yoga. Asher got a really great vibe from her as a teacher and wanted to have Nicole's uplifting and confident energy around her during her labor.  Not only was Nicole amazing and supportive (and a great photographer) during the labor, but she took so much time and energy getting to know us leading up to the big day.  She was attentive and asked really great questions and truly got a sense of our relationship as a couple and our specific needs during labor.  We had some great conversations and we both always felt like we could turn to her with questions and in moments of anxiety leading up to labor.  Nicole was willing to be with us for as long as we wanted during early labor.
